Either you get it - or you're gone
Sportsmanship:This league will have an unwritten rule of sportsmanship. No amount of rules could ever make a league "Pure Sim." Only a person’s own personal character will help make a league great. This league exists for people who enjoy playing Madden, without having to worry about the childish tactics often found while playing in the Xbox Live Lobbies. This league does not look for the best Madden players but looks for guys who enjoy the overall experience of playing games, trades, scouting, drafting etc. We are looking to be more of a traditional type league that owners build through draft, free agency and make a couple key trades to boost their team. We are not looking for,“Sim Snobs” either. We are looking for guys who know football and enjoy the competitive nature of the game. There are no hard and fast consequences for breaking the rules as each rule is broken in different contexts. Some guys may accidentally break a rule and a player will be suspended. Other guys may break a rule on purpose and get removed from the league. All rule violations and consequences to follow will be left to the discretion of the admins of the league. No consequence is ever dished out without researching the violation.
All-Madden, 6 MIN Qtr - No Accel Clock
Playing a CPU Opponent:Our league generally runs full. If you get a game against a CPU there is a 42-point cap rule, unless you need more than 42 points to win. If you need to restart against the CPU for disconnection or whatever, you better inform the commish. The guys in our league will call you out quick if they see multiple restarts against CPU. If you are losing to the CPU, take the loss like a man and own it. Do not restart if your star player gets hurt either. Multiple restarts against a CPU will result in possible removal from league. Playing the CPU is not an opportunity to increase your XP a ton for one player either. Below are the breakdowns for the yardage allowed per one player while playing against the CPU.
West360 -
QB Passing yards for one QB need to be under 350 / 5 TD's
WR Yards for one WR/TE/RB/FB need to be under 150 / 4 TD's
RB Yards needs to be under 150 / 4 TD's
GAME PLAYFailure to Finish Match:Disconnects happen. We are grown men and I expect you guys to deal with these on your own, as grown men. If you can't settle the discussion contact the commissioner and he will make a decision.
Excessive Pausing:If your opponent pauses, let him resume the game. We all have non-madden responsibilities that may need our attention. Show respect to your opponent.
-Offense-Play Calling:There are no hard rules on play calling. However, you will be expected to mix up your plays on both offense and defense. You are allowed to use custom playbooks. However, if you are beginning to exploit only one formation or one type of play, or anything else due to your custom playbook; you will lose your ability to use a custom playbook.
*If an owner calls Man or Zone coverage the entire game that is not an issue to be reported. It is the offense’s job to call plays to make your opponent mix up his coverage. We can't fault owners for building their team to be either Man Coverage or Zone Coverage.
4th Down Rule:You may go for it on 4th down in the following situations:
1. Whenever you are on your opponent’s side of the field.
2. Whenever you are losing in the 4th quarter.
3. Whenever you are down by 21 or more points.
No Huddle Offense:Can only be used with 2:00 min and under in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
Can also be used when you are down by 9 or more points in 4th quarter.
Onside Kicks:"Surprise Onside Kick" is not allowed.
“Regular Onside Kick” only authorized in the 4th quarter if you are losing.
-Defense-Manually Moving Players:No manually moving players. Period. If your DB or LB lines up on opposite side of field than his man, use "Man align" feature to adjust. Our league/s wants to emphasize play calling on defense, not stick skills and AI manipulation.
Kick Off Returns:You are not allowed to take your Kick Returner, run him out of the endzone and then run him forward to catch the ball on the fly. This does not happen in real life so it should not be happening in our league. This will be called the "Histtory" rule.
Vacations:Common Courtesy would apply here. Let us know if you’re leaving for a while. In Madden25 there is the auto-pilot feature. Please set your status to auto-pilot when leaving and still inform the Commissioner.
Max Contracts:There will be no more 6 or 7 year max contracts that are backloaded with money. This takes potential players away from free agency and upsets the balance of the league. It's just a loophole owners use to manipulate the Salary Cap. Here is the new rule regarding max contracts -
Season 1 you can offer a max contract of 6 years
Season 2 you can offer a max contract of 5 years
Season 3-5 you can offer a max contract of 4 years
You are allowed four total max contracts of longer years than designated, per Madden year (4-5 seasons). You can assign these to any player of your choosing. You only get four per madden year so choose wisely. Not four per season but four per 4/5 seasons.
There will be someone monitoring contracts at all times.
If you break this rule you will not be allowed to participate in FA bidding following that year. If you break the rule twice in one madden year you are not allowed to participate in FA bidding for that year and your trades are restricted for the following year.
Trades:You are afforded only 3 total trade transactions per season, for the first three seasons. For seasons 4 and 5 you are afforded unlimited trade transactions.
Season 1 - Three Transactions
Season 2 - Three Transactions
Season 3 - Three Transactions
Season 4 - Unlimited Transactions
Season 5 - Unlimited Transactions
This includes the complete season - Pre, Regular, Post, Off.
Trade Committee approval IS required for all trades.
A captains list must be submitted and approved before you can trade.
You must post your trade proposal under the trade thread before YOU EVEN PROPOSE IT IN THE GAME.
Once the trade committee has approved of the trade you will then be able to propose and accept the trade in the game.
No captains are allowed to be traded at any time.
You will need to submit your trade request like it’s outlined below. This is to make the approval process easier and faster for yourself.
Players/Picks -
Position/s -
Salary Cap Hit/Penalty -
Reason –
Once you post your trade request it will be approved/denied within 48 hours and great effort to get the trade processed before the next advance will be made by the TC. If your trade is denied for any reason you are free to make a case as to why it should be put through or modify the trade. We expect you will do this respectively, keep in mind.
If you trade for a player he must remain on your roster for at least one season. You are allowed to release that player to free agency if you would like. There will be no "Trade and Trades" in the same year involving the same player. If you trade for a player at any point in Season "A" you will not be allowed to trade him until the Pre-Season of Season "B," at the earliest.
Team Captains:In order to prevent high profile “Face of the Franchise Players” from being traded or cut, team captains must be selected from your team. This is also to preserve the longevity of the League. We want to keep the teams intact but also give you the freedom to build your team as you want too. This league is more of a traditional type league than a Fantasy league and we will do our best to keep it that way. Team Captains are untradeable for one season. We are planning on having 5 seasons during Madden25. After each season you will be allowed to remove one captain from your list. You do not need to provide a new captain.
If you are taking over a team mid-season you are to use the current captains listed. Each team/situation will be looked at on a case by case basis to be fair to the incoming owner as to whether he will be allowed to re-nominate captains at the season's end.
You must choose 1 offense and 1 defensive player. After that, you can have any combination of players totaling 4. (2 off/2 def - 1 off/3 def etc) These must be your marquee players. You are not allowed to have a OL on your captain's list. Please post your captain's list in the captain's list thread on the main page of the forum (All captain's list subject to approval by league).
Free Agents:There will be a Free Agent Draft before Season 1
During the season Free Agency will remain open and you can sign players as your team needs.
If you sign a player in Free Agency that player will not be allowed to be traded for the remainder of that season.
You can choose to cut him at any point if you would like.
There will be no "Sign and Trades" happening. The earliest you could trade him would be the Pre-Season of the Following Year.
Rule Violations:All complaints need to be addressed with TheRaiderGamer (Josh) or Salty222 (Salty) privately.
Weekly Game Scheduling:WestOne - 2x per week - Wed & Sat @ 10pm est
Good Luck!
